DESCRIPTION

This sensor is designed to detect passing trains. It's senstive to objects that are passing within a distance of 1 or 2 studs from the front of the sensor. As such it's only affected by trains passing in front, it's not affected by what happens behind the track. The sensor works both during day and night. It emits infra-red light and measures the amount of light that is reflected back.
The train detection sensor can be connected to a computer using our Quad Sensor Controller or a Starter Controller. You can also connect it to your DIY Arduino-based control system.
